QR codes appear on tickets, menus, packages, and billboards — and reading them should not require installing another app. This scanner decodes QR codes from an uploaded image or directly from your camera. It works offline and handles damaged or low-contrast codes reliably. Your camera feed is never streamed to any server.
QR codes let you see a destination before your browser does. Attackers paste fraudulent codes over payment stickers, print them in emails, and embed them in PDF invoices, a practice called quishing. Because a scan opens whatever the code points to, decoding unknown codes in a viewer first is the safe habit: read the full URL and check the domain against the context. The viewer shows the raw payload, including WiFi strings and contact data, so you know what scanning would trigger before your device touches it.
Receiving a QR code in an email, on a printed flyer, or inside a PDF is where a phone camera struggles: low resolution, glare, or a crumpled paper corner. Rather than retyping the destination by hand, screenshot the code and run it through the scanner, which decodes from an image and tolerates lower contrast. It also handles scanning from a second screen on a video call. Everything runs locally, so the code never leaves your device, and you avoid a dedicated scanner app with extra permissions.

Can I scan QR codes from my camera?
Yes. Click Use Camera, grant camera permission, and point the device at the code. Frames are decoded continuously and scanning stops automatically once a code is found.
Where is my data processed?
Locally, in your browser. The jsQR library decodes raw pixel data from your image or camera feed, and nothing is uploaded to any server.
What happens if no QR code is found?
You see the message No QR code found in the image. Try a sharper photo with the code fully in frame, better lighting, and less glare.
Why does the camera button fail?
Camera access was denied or is unavailable. Check the browser permission prompt, make sure no other app is using the camera, and reload the page.
Which QR variants can it decode?
Standard QR codes decode reliably. Less common variants such as Micro QR may not be recognized by the decoder library, so prefer standard codes.
Can I copy the decoded content?
Yes. The decoded text appears in a result card with a copy button, which is handy for URLs, Wi-Fi credentials, or plain text payloads.
Can I scan QR codes from image files?
