FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about image compare tool.
How does image comparison work?
You upload two images and drag the vertical slider left or right. The first image is clipped by the slider to reveal the second image underneath, so you can spot differences instantly.
What file formats are supported?
Any format the browser can display, including JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP, and AVIF. Both images load as object URLs.
Can I compare images of different sizes?
Yes. Both images are fitted into the same comparison container with object-fit scaling, so each is resized to fit the frame.
Do my images leave my device?
No. Files are loaded as local object URLs and rendered directly in your browser. There is no upload step at all.
Why does the slider look misaligned?
Images with different aspect ratios are letterboxed inside the frame, so alignment is approximate. Use images with identical dimensions for a pixel-accurate comparison.
Does the slider work on mobile?
Yes. The comparison responds to touch events as well as mouse drags, so it works with fingers on tablets and phones.
