What EXIF data is removed?
The tool redraws your photo onto a canvas and re-encodes it, which drops all embedded EXIF metadata including GPS coordinates, camera serial numbers, lens information, and capture settings. Only the visible pixels survive.
Does this tool upload my images?
No. The image is decoded, redrawn, and re-encoded entirely inside your browser. The cleaned file you download is the only thing that leaves the page.
What image formats are supported?
JPEG, PNG, and WebP files up to 20MB are accepted. The output keeps the original format and file extension, for example photo.jpg becomes photo.cleaned.jpg.
Why is the cleaned file slightly different in size?
Re-encoding drops metadata and may change compression settings, so the file size usually changes. Visual quality stays essentially the same, which is the trade-off for removing all hidden data.
Will this remove watermarks or overlay text?
