FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about morse code translator.
Which characters are supported?
Letters A through Z, digits 0 through 9, and common punctuation are supported. Words are separated with a slash character in the Morse output so the encoded message stays readable.
Does it work in both directions?
Yes. Switch between text to Morse and Morse to text modes, and the conversion updates live in both directions as you type.
What is the word separator?
A forward slash separates words in the encoded output, while individual letters are separated by a single space, following the common convention for written Morse code.
Does it produce audio or just text?
Dots, dashes, and gaps are written as characters rather than timed beeps, so the output is a plain textual representation. For audible timing you would need a real tone generator.
Is my message sent anywhere?
No. Encoding and decoding run entirely in your browser, so messages you translate stay local and are never transmitted or logged.
Does it include a reference table?
Yes. A full Morse alphabet reference table is displayed on the page, covering letters, digits, and punctuation, so you can look up any code without leaving the tool.
