What information does it show?
Network address, broadcast address, subnet mask, usable host range, and total host count are all computed for the IPv4 subnet you provide.
Does it support CIDR notation?
Yes. Enter an IP with a CIDR suffix such as 192.168.1.0/24, and the tool calculates the full range from the prefix length immediately.
How is the usable host count calculated?
The number of usable hosts is 2 to the power of 32 minus the prefix length, minus two for the network and broadcast addresses. A /24 subnet therefore yields 254 usable addresses.
Which prefix lengths are valid?
Any CIDR prefix from /0 through /32 is accepted, covering everything from the entire address space down to a single host address.
Is my IP data sent anywhere?
No. Subnet math runs entirely in your browser, so network ranges from internal infrastructure never leave your device.
Does it support IPv6?
No, this calculator handles IPv4 subnets only. IPv6 addressing uses a different scheme with 128 bit addresses and its own shorthand notation.
